«After eating a forbidden apple…»

Андрей КОНДАКОВ | Поэзия

***

After eating a forbidden apple,
Adam was exiled from paradise.
Tired of his wanderings, he prayed
Asking for an audience with God.
God agreed to hear what he wanted.

“You’re the master of the Earth and Heavens
And a hundred years is a second
For you at your kingdom in the sky.
And I pray you fulfill my request,
Give me just a little piece of happiness!
Lord, I wander for thousands of years
In the grip of poverty all days.
Give me, please, one hundred million dollars.
I will buy a mansion in Miami,
I will build an earthly paradise for myself.”

“I had moved you down from heaven one day,
But I’d send you Jesus some time later,
Now you can build your happiness by yourself.
Yet, if you insist, I’ll give you money,

Come for it just thirty seconds* later.”

*One second for God is equal to one hundred Earth years. You can make a wish and God will fulfill your request after 30 seconds, not a second later. I guarantee the honesty of God.
