Paris
Paris
Let’s run away from everyone
And fly to Paris beneath the moon
We’ll travel every part of France,
See Notre Dame from villa roofs.
We will be happy, you and I
If only for a little while.
Could we even sing aloud,
How happy we are here and now!
At last our plane has taken off,
We’re gaining steady altitude.
You’ve dreamed of France so very long,
Here’s to a dream now coming true!
Soon it will come, come to life
Sooner than you could expect.
«I love you so very much,»
In quiet whisper, you’ll confess.
The Champs Elysees Avenue
Will lead us to the Place de l’Etoile,
The Arch upon the Chaillot hill.
I see your broad and happy smile!
Perhaps, it’s just this once we see
The Champs Elysees, the Sainte-Chapelle,
No place as beautiful as these
Will ever come our way again.
